Dell Summer Tech TuesdaysThe Dell PCS Program invites you to a series of webinars about our professional learning workshops for using technology effectively in the classroom and in the office. Each webinar will address how these workshops train teachers to integrate specific programs and technologies into their lessons or how administrators might apply these tools to increase their efficiency. Webinars will be a 15–20 minutes long and will provide the information necessary so you can make informed decisions about training staff and using specific applications. Each webinar will address:
Webinar Schedule: Tuesday, July 20th, 2:00 PM LEGO Robotics: Keys for Success It can be daunting to decide how to go use LEGO Robotics in your school. We will help you understand more about: the ways to use Robotics, the training your staff will need, the age group for whom is Robotics is effective, how to set up a program in your school, what you need to know about participating in Robotic competitions, the costs and more Tuesday, July 27th, 2:00 PM SCRATCH: Free Software for Animation, Game Design and STEM Learning Scratch, software for STEM learning, was developed at the MIT Media Lab. This overview will show you the amazing power of the software and examples of how it may be used within your school to support standards based curriculum goals. Tuesday, August 3rd, 2:00 PM Word 7 & Excel: Tips and Tricks for Administrators This session will cover some of the tips and tricks that will help teachers and administrators use Word and Excel to their advantage. We will cover how to import data into a spreadsheet, as well as, review how to use the new features in Word 7. Tuesday, August 10th, 2:00 PM Windows 7: What Changed and How do I Use It? New computers are now shipped with Windows 7. Is your staff ready? We can help them learn some valuable methods so they are able to jump in and feel empowered and confident. Tuesday, August 17th, 2:00 PM Video and Media Literacy: How to Implement a Video Club or Class in Your School. Many schools are frustrated because they believe they have the tools and equipment to implement a video program, but are not sure how to proceed. This webinar will provide you with a roadmap so that your students can use the equipment you already have to make movies. Tuesday, August 24th, 2:00 PM Interactive Whiteboards in Your School. Perhaps you have Interactive Whiteboards in your school. Do you feel your staff is using them effectively? This workshop will outline resources for staff and reasons why an Interactive Whiteboard can help your staff teach more effectively.
