The Office of School and Youth Development is inviting teachers to be trainied in Peer Mediation and are also inviting teachers, counselors, and/or deans to be trained in Negotiation Skills. 

 

Counselors, COSA's and teachers serving as Deans cannot apply for mediation training as the duties of their respective roles in the school preclude them from being assigned to staff a Peer Mediation Center.

 

Cohort A:

Mondays and Tuesdays, July 12,13,19,20,26,27, 2010. (8:45am-3pm).

Marte Valle High School; 145 Stanton Street; NYC 10002.

 

Cohort B:

Wednesdays and Thursdays, July 14,15,21,22,28,29, 2010

(Time and place same as Cohort A)

 

To receive certification as conflict resolution specialist in either mediation or negotiation skills, each participant must submit an assessment audiotape of a successful mediation or negotiation as applicable and a set of five lesson plans.  Participants taking either course for P credit must complete additional assignments and will be provided with instructions to regist on line for P credit.

 

Registration is due no later than June 1, 2010.
